Maddy Beanie
I saw this Staggered FPTC stitch scrolling through Pinterest and knew I needed to make something with it. This was my second pattern I ever wrote up. It started with the adult beanie, then created more sizes.
That turned into Fingerless gloves, a cowl and a headband. I even wrote up some other items like a cellphone pouch, canvas pouch and towel holders. It is a fun stitch to do. It is very similar to the Alpine stitch.
I am very creative with my hands but words fail me. I couldn’t think of a name for the beanie, so I named it after my daughter 🙂 I have heard some people keep a list of unusual street names and use those to name their patterns. Maybe I will try that.
The fur poms on these beanies have snaps so customers can take them off if the hat needs to be washed. I also like this smaller pom for the Maddy Beanie.
I use Hobby Lobby ILTY but any worsted weight yarn will work. The softer yarns are my favorite. I Love This Yarn has SO many amazing colors (I will probably sound like a broken record, but it really is great yarn).
