Crochet (and the beach) are my happy place!
I have always loved crafty things. My mom taught me to sew when I was a kid. I didn’t have the funds to buy new dresses for special occasions, so I made several dresses including my Senior Prom dress.
There is great value in handmade items. They are items to treasure as someone thought of you the whole time they worked on it. Hours, weeks or months, they thought of you. I loved making gifts for people. I made a lot with crochet and needle point.
I crocheted as a teen and really just did the Granny Square stitch as blankets. I picked up crochet again around 2013 just making winter hats and scarves. I taught myself more stitches and styles by watching youtube videos. A couple years ago I started my little Etsy shop, Handmade with Love selling my crochet makes and that turned into designing my own patterns. I have had so much fun designing pieces (actually it can be a love – hate relationship).
The best things in life are made by hand.
Family Affair
I spent this year doing markets and had SO much fun! If you haven’t done a market yet, you really should!
It was wonderful having my daughter help me at every market. She is really great with visions about Social Media content so she helped me with some new content ideas. I have a lot to learn.
I Love working with my kids!
My older son has become very interested in photography. This year he is going to help me with some photo content.
My Family
As a family we love to travel. It is getting harder now with the kids getting older.
Our favorite place to spend time is at our cottage in Michigan at Higgins Lake. We enjoy time there year round.
