Crochet Patch Trucker Hat

There is just something so fun about creating these. They’ve quickly become one of my favorite things to make—not only because they come together so easily, but because no two ever have to be the same. They are perfect for markets, too. I love having items on my table that catch people’s eye, spark conversation, and feel a little different from everything else… and these definitely do that.
Lately, they’ve really been having a moment. I’ve been seeing them pop up more and more, and it’s always so fun to spot the different styles and creative twists people are putting on them. If you happened to watch The Road last year, you might have even noticed one of the contestants wearing a few—which just made me love them even more. It’s always exciting to see something handmade getting that kind of spotlight.
One of the best parts? They are so quick to make. Whether you’re prepping for a market, making gifts, or just want a satisfying project you can finish in an evening, these are such a great go-to. And when it comes to the crochet patch itself, the options are endless. You can keep it classic with traditional granny squares, or switch things up with flowers, circles, or unique motifs.
That’s really where the magic is—the creativity is completely in your hands. You can make them as simple or as detailed, as bold or as neutral, as you want. Each one becomes a little reflection of your own style, and that’s what makes them so special.

I got most of my supplies from Amazon. The Trucker hats you can get in bulk from a pack of 5 to a pack of 50. Depending on how many you purchase, you can get them as low as $1.83-2.50 a hat. They come in all sorts of colors and styles, so you can choose your style. I also love the hat bling Amazon has! So many fun options!!
Some other tools I like to use to help me are: Temporary Spray Adhesive to help hold the squares on the hat while I tack them down. Needle nose pliers help to pull the needle through so my fingers don’t hurt. Sharp steel needles to help get through hat materials.
