Warm Hugs Kindle Sleeve

Where are my book lovers???? How cute are these? Protect your books and carry them in style. Whether you like to read on a kindle, or you prefer real books, there are several sizes to fit your style.

When my daughter was home from college over winter break, she asked if I could make her some book sleeves. She has several sized books, so I created 3 different sizes.

I chose to use 2 strands of cotton yarn. The 2 strands make it a little more substantial and the cotton yarn doesn’t stretch much. You could also make this with a thick yarn like Wool Ease Thick and Quick.

I couldn’t decide on my favorite stitch, so I made them with 3 different stitches. The Warm Hugs is made with a 3dcCL (3 Double Crochet Cluster). The Twisted set is made with the Crossed Double Crochet and the Suzette set with the Suzette Stitch.

There are 4 sizes: Paperback (8″ x 5.5″ x 1″), Wide Paperback (8″ x 5.5″ x 2″), Large Hardcover (9.5″ x 6.5″ x 1.5″) and a Kindle Paperwhite (6.5″ x 4.5″).

All sizes can be easily adjusted if necessary. I used Lily’s Sugar ‘n Cream yarn and I use 2 strands. I like to use the cotton yarn because there is less stretch. You could probably use chunky yarn if you don’t have access to Lily’s.
