Team Spirit Beanie

The Team Spirit beanie was the very first pattern I ever wrote up. I wanted to make a hat for an event so worked this one up. I sold a few to friends and then decided to publish my first written pattern.

It is a very simple pattern worked in HDC stitches and SC stitches. I prefer to use the soft yarns. Red Heart with Love yarn was the first yarn I used, but I am having a hard time finding that yarn these days. I switched to Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn. There are SO many amazing colors.

Pound of Love is another great yarn, but I do find it is slightly thinner than Hobby Lobby’s yarn. It will also work great. Heartland is another great worsted weight yarn. You can use any worsted weight yarn of your choice.

I like adding a Fur Pom to my girls hats. I use the ones that come with snaps so they can be removed to wash the hat if necessary.

When I started my little business, leather tags were not as easily available so I used little buttons as my tag. Now I use leather tags.

This pattern then turned into family styles of matching hats and I wrote up several sizes from baby to adult. Here are some fun examples of Family matching styles.
