My Favorite Market Must Haves

I did my first markets in 2023. I have to say, if you haven’t done one yet, you should really consider it! These are the most important items:

The most important for outdoor markets is a tent with sides. Most places don’t allow anything bigger than 10×10, so that is a safe size to buy. You may not need the walls, but you will be grateful you have them if you have bad weather.

My set up this summer. We had great weather for all of the events (thank goodness) so I didn’t need the walls, but I was grateful to have them just incase.

I liked having tables that fold in half. They fit in my car better when I loaded things up. I used 6′ tables but you could do 8′. It just depends on your set up.

You will need table coverings. I like this fitted table cloth. Less to blow in the wind and you can still hide bins with extra supplies under the table. They have lots of colors to choose from.

I started with these grid walls, but found that they were too big to fit in my car with all the other supplies I need. But for some people, these are perfect. It just depends on what you have to display.

These are the walls I changed to. They fold much smaller and I can use them like this photo, or I can put it together like a cube where people can walk around it. I use 2 of them.

I loved this pack of accessories for my grid wall. I got 2 packs and it really helps to display my goodies.

I wanted a welcoming feel to my tent, so I got one of these outdoor rugs. They are made of plastic, so if it rains, no worries!

At the end of the day, I just shake it off and fold it up! Super easy. If it gets dirty, you can hose it down and lay it in the sun to dry.

I don’t need to run electrical items during my events, but I always worry about my phone dying since I use it all day. I got this portable generator to make sure my devices never die. You can also plug a few things in if needed. Just make sure you are fully charged before you go!

Summer markets can be VERY hot. I got this fan that can hang from the tent canopy. I charge it the day before and it makes it all day. If I needed to charge it, I could use the portable generator I bring. It also has a light incase you do a night time market.

This was my original banner. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the right size, but it worked. With the creation of this site, I did a rebrand, so I am getting a new banner this year. I have liked Vista Print for my banner and cards.

I found this gem on Amazon. Maybe you already knew you could get a cordless one, but I didn’t. I make sure it is charged the night before my event and keep it with my supplies. I was so glad I had it when one of my signs broke and I had to glue it back together.

Wood Crates are great for giving levels to your tables. I got mine at JoAnn’s. They usually have a sale or good coupons you can use.

Square reader – This is the cheapest way to accept Credit Cards at your markets. With the Square app, you can use this plug in to swipe cards, but they can also tap to pay on your phone. Both great options. You don’t need wifi for it to work, just good cell service.

Summer Market– my daughter helped me this summer with my markets and really helped to step up my social media. This is all her creative genius 🙂

Holiday Market– winter markets are so fun! Doing the different seasons is so fun because you get to change up the items you make.

I will update this post this year if I find any other items that are MUST haves for a market!

If you have any questions, feel free to email me or connect with me on Social media. I have always been very grateful if a maker responded to my messages. I will do my best to keep up with them:-)

did sign up with Amazon this year to become an affiliate. Because I buy so many of my supplies on there, I thought it would help. With that being said, I make a small commision on the items I link here.
